Start from the patient's chart
The prescription will start in the chart where the decision was made, instead of in a separate login.
E-prescribing is in development. The goal is simple: a provider writes and sends a prescription from the patient's chart, with the labs, care plan and medication list that informed it on the same screen.

The problem
In many small practices, the reasons for a prescription sit in one place and the prescription is written somewhere else. The hormone panel, the lipid trend and the plan you agreed with the patient are in one system. The prescription goes out from another, often with a second login and the patient's details typed in again.
E-prescribing is one of the next two large features our team is building, alongside lab ordering. It is not available today. We are building it so the decision and the prescription happen in the same chart, and the record stays in one piece.
A provider opens the patient, reviews what changed, and prescribes without leaving the record.

The prescription will start in the chart where the decision was made, instead of in a separate login.

The patient's recorded medications and allergies are planned to stay visible while you write, with the latest biomarker results and the active care plan one click away.

Each prescription is planned to be saved to the patient's record once it is sent, next to the notes and plan behind it.
Design principles
The ground rules the feature is being built on, and the scope it will not cover.
Prescriptions are written and signed by the provider. The software records and sends them. It does not choose a drug or a dose.
Who can prescribe will follow the roles and permissions your clinic already sets for its team.
Every read of and change to patient data is recorded in an audit trail today. Prescribing is planned to be recorded the same way.
LongevityEHR is not a pharmacy and is not built for in-house dispensing.
There is no insurance billing. LongevityEHR is built for cash-pay practices.
Most of the chart is already here. What is missing is the last step: sending the prescription.
Live today
E-prescribing extends a chart that is in production now. Providers record allergies, medications and diagnoses, write and sign clinical notes, follow results on biomarker trends and manage care plans built from the clinic's own templates.
Sending the prescription is the piece in development.

Until it ships
Not yet. E-prescribing is in development. Today providers record a patient's medications and allergies in the chart and send prescriptions through the tool they already use.
E-prescribing means the prescriber sends the prescription electronically, straight to the pharmacy, instead of handing the patient a paper script.
No. LongevityEHR is not a pharmacy and is not built for in-house dispensing. E-prescribing is about writing and sending the prescription from the chart where the decision was made.
Those details are being settled while the feature is built, so we don't list them here. Book a demo and we'll walk you through the current scope.
Lab ordering is the other large feature in development. Together they bring ordering tests and writing prescriptions into the same chart as results and plans.
